Cookies are small text files a website can store on your device. This page explains how they are used here.
This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking technology. One third-party embed — the Google Map on the Contact page — may set cookies from Google when that page is opened. That is the only such technology on the site.
Pending legal review. This document is a structured draft describing ordinary website practice. It has not been reviewed by a legal adviser, and items shown as pending have not been confirmed. It should be reviewed and completed before the site is published.
The Google Map on the Contact page
The Contact page embeds a map from Google so visitors can find the association's office. Opening that page sends a request to Google, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies on your device.
This is the only third-party embed on the site, and it appears on the Contact page alone. Every other page loads nothing from a third party.
Google's use of any data it receives is governed by Google's own privacy and cookie policies, over which the association has no control. To avoid it, you can block third-party cookies for Google in your browser — the office address is also written out as text on the Contact page and in the footer, so no information is lost if the map does not load.
[Decide with the association's legal adviser whether a consent banner is required for this embed. If the association would prefer no third-party requests at all, the map can be removed by setting contact.mapEmbedUrl to null in the site configuration.]
Technologies used instead
Some features rely on standard browser behaviour that is not a cookie and stores nothing that identifies you:
- Ordinary browser caching of pages, fonts, images and stylesheets, to make return visits faster.
- Fonts served from this website's own domain rather than a third-party font service, so no request is made to an outside provider.
Hosting and security logs
The association's hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include IP addresses, request times and browser user-agent strings. These are used to serve the site and to protect it against abuse, and are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
Other third-party content
If the association later embeds further third-party content — a video player or a social media feed, for example — that provider may set its own cookies when the content loads.
[Update this section, and the Privacy Policy, if any further third-party embed, analytics tool or advertising technology is added to the site.]
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated if the site's use of cookies changes. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
